  2. 1) a. Western Ghats are higher than eastern ghats
    b. Correct
    c. Abhishek got it correctly. Anamudi, not Dodabetta, is the heighest peak
    2)Narmad and Tapi flow through rift valley. This is imp bit. Also read more about the rift valley and how it has formed in India
    3) Western coast is submerging not emerging. So it has narrow coast and many ports are there
    4)This is very imp bit;
    Karewas=Glacier deposits
    Bugyals = Summer grass lands used by Bhotias for their sheeps (also read abt transmuhance in this context)
    kayals=Back waters of kerala
    playas=dry salt lakes
    5) Shale is a fine-grained, clastic sedimentary rock composed of mud that is a mix of flakes of clay minerals and tiny fragments of other minerals, especially quartz and calcite. The ratio of clay to other minerals is variable. Shale can metamorphose into slate, phyllite, schist or gneiss depending on the degree of heat and pressure
    So shale=sedimentary rock
    Schist and Gneiss=metamorphic rocks
    Granite=igneous rock
